I feel like an idiot but I remembered this poem and I found it online one day. I always thought it was Percy Shelley but every attempt I have made to confirm that fact has been met with '0 matches' and so on. Does anyone know who the author of this poem is? It is driving me crazy.
Here is an excerpt:
My faint spirit was sitting
In the light of thy looks, my love,
It panted for thee like the hind at noon
For the brooks, my love, my love.
Thy barb, whose hoofs out-speed the tempest's flight.
Bore thee far from me;
My heart, for my weak feet were weary soon,
Did companion thee.
My heart, my heart did companion thee.
You were right:
