Has anyone else been to the Peotry free for all forums? They seem to have a lot of rules. Every commentary that I have seen so far (about 20) goes on a rant against abstraction. Has anyone else seen this?
"I had 2 solitary thoughts but they got lonely and made more"
Johnny, were you aware of paraphrasing Shakespeare???
RICHARD II, act 5, scene 5 -
RICHARD: I have been studying how I may compare
This prison where I live unto the world:
And for because the world is populous
And here is not a creature but myself,
I cannot do it; yet I'll hammer it out.
My brain I'll prove the female to my soul,
My soul the father; and these two beget
A generation of still-breeding thoughts,
And these same thoughts people this little world,
In humours like the people of this world,
For no thought is contented.
I encourage you all to go to the site and read some of the critiscisim. They saw they are constructive, but so far I have found that they are just condesending and mean. Tehy try and fit poetry into their own mold of how they think it should be and dont fight for new revelation. I'm not whining because they were mean to a peice of mine, I actualy liked the advise that was given on my poem, but to other poeple I dont think they realy help that much.
