I just tried to google "poetry", and emule only came up SECOND???!!!
grin
good job aaron and the rest of the crew! This means emule is famous!!!!
Yeah, but look who comes in first!
Les
but on the other hand, look who comes in third !
Strange as it may seem, this search actually produces some results:
poultry AND poetry AND portry AND peotry
Actually, we have to thank you, the visitors, for putting eMule in second on that search query. The Google rank is based off several criteria, but one of the most important is how many sites link to this site. I believe that many of you have personal web sites that link to our little community and this greatly contributes to the site's success in search ranking.
Thanks ;-)
Kevin
Kevin, as a point of information, while doing research ABOUT classic poets, many of the websites about a particular poet have links to this one. Thanks to your longevity, the archives have stayed here in tact. That helps with your Google ranking.
Les
True dat!!!
How's the art project coming along?
Les
I haven't been able to work on it at all. I work in financial services and when it gets close to the end of the year, I don't have time to do anything except work and pay bills. Anyway, I have talked to Rudy a bit and we hope to find some time in this upcoming year to add a lot of new features to the site, nothing in concrete yet. We have already started, but have a good ways to go.
Oh, the point you brought up about longevity sparked a thought. The Poetry Archive will be ten years old this coming year, 2005. However, eMule itself has only been around since late 1998. And just for the curious, the site has been totally reprogrammed three times.

Desi,
I have recently folded Sarbanes-Oxley into my public accounting experience as a IT General Controls auditor. The experience has been enjoyable, but I have seen far more of the world through airports & hotels than I would ever want to put onto a resume. Free time on my end appears to be shorter than I ever expected for hobbies.
Rudy continues his early mid-life crisis at University. He has yet to really accomplish much beyond a few mundane classes on his path to find a degree, any degree.
I believe our second project -- usersubmittedpoetry.com might receive attention before the integration of digital art with poetry. The highest priority item Rudy has on his plate is a redesign of the administrative program making it easier for more volunteers to assist in adding, updating and correcting content to the archive.
Thats about the end of news on my end.
Best,
Aaron

Too bad about the art project, I think the idea had tremendous potential.

Hi Aaron!
I didn't know you were so interested in accounting. For you, I think we should come up with some nice accounting poems, just to keep you motivated!
And I hope that soon, I will have a proper internet connection and stable life (well, stable enough for me) again, and I would love to volunteer. I am so jealous of those people that have their name in fat letters! I still think we should be able to buy our way in, as you are all american: your name in bold lettertype: 100 dollars a year, your name cursive and in bold lettertype: 200 dollars, your name in red, bold and cursive: 500 dollars a year. If you are a very famous poet, and can prove it, we can offer you bold for only 50 dollars. And then you can go for trips for yourself.
And who needs a degree if you're in charge of the second most famous poetry website on the web anyway? (and second only because of the name of the first one).
Nice to hear from you!
ps. time to update the copyright. Or maybe wait until 2005?
