I know this is a long shot. But on the movie A Cinderella Story, Austin quoted this " I can't sleep without knowing there's hope. Half the night I waste in sighs, in a wakeful doze I sorrow. For the hands, the lips, the eyes - for the meeting of tomorrow". Sam then says "Quoting Tennyson".
Any help is appreciated. I've looked until I drove myself crazy. Thanks.

thanks Les you are a life saver. I've been driving myself insane about that part of the movie. I really love poetry, but it has to be something so simple its profound to really catch my attention. And when I heard that being qouted on the movie, I had to rewind and replay like a millions times. I like how that part was subtle, yet deep. Anywho, thank you much.

Click on the first one. Either read the whole poem or look for the line numbers listed in Meagan's response. (Or do a CTRL+F, and search for a phrase.)
Heyy, haha i know this sounds funny but i heard it in that movie as well. And i am driving myself nuts trying to find it. If you find anything can you send it to me? If you would like i can do the same. It's an amazing quote!!
Cait, read the posts above yours, it's from Maud. Just click on flat view, and read Meagan's reply above. If you wish to read the entire poem, click on the hyperlink I gave to Passerby. [tinyurl.com]
THANK YOU! Ive been looking for it EVERYWHERE. I even watched the movie 5 time just to get that quote and eachtime I missed it. So thanks a bunch. It helped alot
I recently watched the movie, and it was so coincidental - i had an english assignement due on poets, but i didn't know who to choose! Then i saw "a cinderella story" and when austin quoted lord alfred tennyson, i knew i wanted to do my assignment on tennyson!
But then i realised i don't know what poem it's from? so i searched like MAD - until i decided to write the whole quote in a search engine. It led me to THIS site, and for that i am thankful! :D
