I just checked MSNBC for recent news (nothing dramatic so far today), and found a first line (from a news item) that struck me as poetic. Here it is with the line breaks as I found them:


Outside the Highway Junction
Thrift Store, a thin film of gritty
ash coated the bottom of a Mount
St. Helens coffee mug.
