Closed Threads

Are there any standards or guidelines available as to when threads will be arbitrarily closed? I ask because I see one closed this morning, but no indication why it might have been.

Perhaps I was hasty. I closed it because it was tempting people to add unrelated enquiries to it, rather than start a new thread. Perhaps I ought to have retitled it instead. It's always a problem: a vague unspecific title is where the uninitiated tend to post queries which seem vaguely appropriate. If I'm quick enough, I change the title. Lost Quotations is the worst forum for this - something like 'Lost Poem' attracts half a dozen different topics. I think it's much better to have a separate thread for each item. But, I'm sorry if I got carried away.

Stephen
