Congrats. They send you any bucks yet?

"Payment:
Beautiful Nuance can only guarantee payment in the form of a byline and exposure for your poem. But, on a monthly basis, Beautiful Nuance will divide 10 percent of byclifforagreen.com's revenue among the poets published in the archive. You will receive a portion of that 10 percent as long as your poem appears on the site. Payment details are explained upon acceptance. "
No. I don't expect they will, either.
sounds like a percent of the net...which is less than zero
Congratulations!

Hey, do you get extra credit for this?
No. Poetry and oral interp. classes are done. Now I'm taking an extremly boring, and rather difficult "Into to the English Language" class. Thanks for the congrats.
English Language, meet Talia.
Talia, meet English Language.
Are we done now?

Wouldn't it be easier with name-tags?

I wish that were good enough!
I got an email today announcing my dividends....one entire, U.S. dollar! The catch? I have to set up a paypal account and give out my personal banking information. Go figure. And I was gonna use it to re-supply my purse with gummie worms. Oh well. I'll just have to keep writing.
Don't spend it all in one place !
I, however, DID spend a dollar I got in 1968 on 100 pieces of Bazooka Bubble Gum, which I brought to Catholic School I attended at the time, 4th grade.......the nun was notorious for saying to any gum-chewers "did you bring enough for everyone?"
So when she caught me chewing gum and said that, I said "why YES, I DID bring enough for everyone !"
She was so flustered, she sort of muttered that I could give it out at recess. I didn't even get beaten with the ruler or anything !
give out my personal banking information ...
I would not do that either, for a buck, but at least the site appears to be legit. I did have a paypal account somewhere, and did not have any negative repercussions, if that info. is of any value.
Ms. Reed:
We respect your decision not to give out any information over the
internet, and we will not attempt to send money to you through PayPal.
Beautiful Nuance does not receive any benefit when our contributors
sign up for PayPal, nor are we privy to any of the information that
PayPal collects. We send whatever small amount we can to our poets
because we believe that poets deserve to get paid for their work. We
hope that this small amount (which we send to everyone monthly) will
add up to something more legitimate over time. It is also our hope and
goal to grow the website until we can provide a larger monthly sum.
Obviously, money should never motivate a poet to write. But, we
believe, when a person performs a task of value, such as creation,
that person should receive sustenance from those who benefit from that
creation. In our present culture, that means getting paid.
We hope this explains our intentions. It probably would be a good idea
for us to add this kind of explanation to our acceptance letters, so
that we are clear from the beginning. Your email made us aware of that
fact, so thank you.
And especially, thank you for writing your poem.
Sincerely,
Clifford A. Green, editor
Elizabeth Jo, manuscript consultant
