Well you know how it is, Hugh.

If you don't pay the taylor, you lose your threads.

Was www.poetry.com getting upset?

That was a legitimate question I responded to at the end, but should have been in a separate thread.

This moderator doesn't care what those crooks at www.poetry think.

But yes, new queries tacked onto old threads often has me reaching for my 'close thread' button. I suppose I should be kind and cut and paste to a new thread. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I'm a bad-tempered old git.

This moderator isn't concerned about www.poetry.com either smiling smiley

Once Rudy looses his employment we should move toward some type of 'launch' for usersubmittedpoetry.com which should help give poetry.com some meaningful competition!

Our user submitted poetry website will also utilize volunteers to read, screen, approve and provide optional feedback to the poet. The website will probably look similar to this one, just many a different colour theme or something.

We may get to a point where we could publish an anthology of poetry, choosen by those same volunteers, to be self-published from one of several new small printing presses. The publication run would be small and the price of the book would remain as small as possible.

Life will be interesting as we move foward - its just that emule.com takes 2-3 years to get there!!!!

Best,

Aaron

Aaron, you might consider following the model of a screenwriting website I heard about. (Sorry, no idea what it's called.) The deal there is: Anyone can post a screenplay--or, more likely, they post a website or email it to people who ask. And anyone who has posted one can READ other screenplays and WRITE FEEDBACK for the author(s).

BUT - and here's what keeps it lively -- if you want to GET feedback on your own screenplay, you first have to WRITE feedback on a given number of screenplays by others.

Something along those lines might be useful for the selection process on the USP forum.
