ok, i have a friend actually 2 friends who i think talk about me behind my back im not positive but im pretty sure they do one makes fun of my boyfriend who goes on here we do stuff at school but i think our going out is making them not wanna be my friend and i was wondering if someone else would like to give me some advice and id give other peeps advice cause im better at solving other peoples problems then my own

Starry-Eyes, for what it's worth, here's my advice.

If people WANT to make things right, all you have to do is give them an opening, a chance to do it without losing face, and they'll do it. All you'd have to do is go to these two and say, "I miss you guys!" and then let them do the rest. (DO NOT say, "Why have you been avoiding me since I started seeing Guy?")

BUT if people WANT to be mad at you, there's nothing you can do about it. If you drop Guy, they'll make fun of that. If you try to reconcile with them, they'll make fun of that. If you try to warm things up between them and Guy, they'll make fun of that.

I assume that all four of you are young -- 20ish at most. That means that you are OUT OF SYNCH in your maturity. Some of your crowd are already functioning as adults, and some are functioning as junior high brats. Sometimes that happens and friendships go away. If that is what's happening, then you need to accept it and, above all, DO NOT REVERT TO CHILDHOOD to try to fix it.

When in doubt (what to say, whether to say anything), behave so that in the future, IF these two want to reconcile with you, there won't be any obstacle created by you.

Well, I could be wrong, but I've been assuming that (---.whatever.com) and (---.whatever.com) are two different addresses on the same server.

My postings always say "Marian-NYC (---.nyc1.dsl.speakeasy.net)" but my actual email address does NOT include "speakeasy" or "net" or "nyc1" or "dsl." I think that's just computer-speak for the path my message arrived on.

EVEN IF THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON, the answer would be no, it doesn't concern me at all. I still meant what I said and I wrote it for anyone who might just happen to want to read it.

LG, you and I are clearly "concerned" and "bothered" by very different things. Good thing, too. Takes all kinds to make a world (or an interesting forum).

When I first came here, I was "concerned" abut the things that "bothered" Les.

One example I recall is someone mentioning William Blake in the same thread as Emily Dickinson

Now that I know Les a little better, I understand that he and I use "bother" in different ways, I assign such a heavier weight to the word.

I am going thru the same thing you are. OMG, it's ridiculous isnt it? My "BFF" "Sara" hates my boyfriend. They always fight, and I've asked them both to cool it, and try to get along, for me. Both agreed, but never followed thru with it. I got sick of hearing her complain about how "mean" and "gay" my boyfriend is, I could have slapped her. She and others tell me how much I've changed since I've been with him. The point is, I love them both, but to them, I can't have my cake and eat it, too. So I told them both to grow up and either live with eachother's presense, or don't bother talking to me any longer. They both get along better, and all have stopped talking about each other. Although things arent peachy keen, I still have both. And if one does stop talking to you, good. They arent worth it if theyre jealous of the attention you give to the other. My friends friend needs help bad! Number one he cuts himself, two he takes a ton of depression pills, three he's already tried to kill himself, four he's belemic, five he does drugs to make himslf happy, six he drinks to much, and seven he's only 14.
