There's a little book called A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO LIKES YOU.

It's not a story, just a series of thoughts about having and being a friend, with illustrations showing very small children enjoying each other's company.

On that website, Megan Rood has posted a long poem with each line beginning "A friend is..."

If you like some of her lines, I imagine she'd be flattered and happy to have you use them.
