Based on LG's findings, I suppose "pax vobiscum quoque" is the RESPONSE in the sharing of the peace:
Priest: "Peace be with you" (pax vobiscum)
Congregation: "And also with you" (pax vobiscum quoque)
Yahbut very annoying graphics. I downloaded a free Latin dictionary a while back that works quite well (in a dos window), but I forget where I got it from now. The problem with the online sites is that Latin puts endings on words, so I have found a phrase list or a Google search more rewarding.

For anyone who hasn't read THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, that's where "babelfish" come from.
They are small living fish that you stick in your ear when you encounter an alien species. They "ingest language and excrete meaning" (I'm quoting from memory there), so you can understand everyone.
According to the GUIDE (the book within the book), by removing barriers to communication, the babelfish has caused more and bloodier wars than any other single discovery in the history of the galaxy.

Vogon poetry is of course the third worst in the Universe.
The second worst is that of the Azagoths of Kria. During a recitation by their Poet Master Grunthos the Flatulent of his poem "Ode To A Small Lump of Green Putty I Found In My Armpit One Midsummer Morning" four of his audience died of internal haemorrhaging, and the President of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council survived by gnawing one of his own legs off. Grunthos is reported to have been "disappointed" by the poem's reception, and was about to embark on a reading of his twelve- book epic entitled My Favourite Bathtime Gurgles when his own major intestine, in a desperate attempt to save life and civilization, leapt straight up through his neck and throttled his brain.
The very worst poetry of all perished along with its creator Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings of Greenbridge, Essex, England in the destruction of the planet Earth.

Thank you Trillian for steering this thread in the appropriate direction !......I have never heard the radio broadcasts....just the books and the TV versions....I do recall reading that Hotblack Desiato was the name of an actual Real Estate company.
I was reminded of Vogon poetry when Treebeard was reciting in "The Two Towers" (his was better)
For once the radio programmes came first, followed by the first two books, the TV adaptation then the other books. I still prefer the radio series.
Lintilla was one of my favourites and she never made it beyond the radio.

(I have a set of tapes I made by setting a hand-held tape recorder next to a little transistor radio when the radio version was broadcast for the first -- and apparently the last! -- time.)
I believe the radio scripts have been published in book form.
Ah ok thank you Marian...that should be a good read......tell me...when were they on the radio in USA?
The beeb did issue the series on tape, they may still be available.
Lintilla was a clone produced by a machine that malfuntioned and started making the next one before finishing the previous one, thus the machine could not be switched off without commiting murder. So another machine was started up to produce Allitnils which mutually anihilate with Lintillas. Arthur befriends one, saves her and departs on the Heart of Gold with her and Marvin, leaving Zaphod, Ford and Zarniwhoop marooned with the president and his cat.
The tapes seem to be available from amazon in the UK, but not in the US. You need the BBC radio collection tapes not the author reading his book.
