Help!! My son needs a graduation poem for 6th grade graduation! I can't find anything that doesn't say "jr. high" or talk about everyone leaving. I'm open to suggestions!!

I bet you (or your son and his friends) could write something--and I always say that someone you write, no matter how silly, will be treasured and remembered.

We've had adventures at (school) and made friends of whom we're fond.
But now it's time for us to go be little fish in a bigger pond.

It took us six long years to climb this mountain, great and steep.
But next fall we'll start over and the bottom of the heap.

See if you can find rhymes for the name of the school, the name of the principal, the name of the town, the name of the team (if any)... That will get the attention of the kids who are listening.

Originally he was told just to "find" something. But he's a very good writer. I've sent a note to school today for the teacher's permission to write something himself. Thanks so much for your ideas!

Teachers, grades, the extended halls,
We've had some laughs, we've had some falls
Dealing with friends and dealing with grades
But all these moments will never fade.
Soon we will be entering new doors
And experience times that shine and times that pour.
In these past few years we have obtained
The knowledge of how to deal with change.
Change is life's greatest gift
Which makes you stronger with every lift.
We have changed from kindergarten till now
But what we want to know is exactly how?
How did we evolve from a bud to a flower
How did we surpass every rain shower?
The answer is simple, let me explain
About all the knowledge that we have gained
From our teachers, and from our peers
Who have helped us through all these years.
When new things come up and jump into our face,
We have the ability to deal in a steady pace.
But the time has come to take that knowledge
And apply it to high school, then to college
But it doesn't stop there because as we progress
There is something I would like to stress.
Change is expected throughout the years
And this is something we mustn't fear.
My fellow classmates the time has arrived,
To leave the school that we have survived.
In the past three years we have achieved
Goals we would have never believed.
Personally, I am proud of this whole class
For believing in yourself and making it past.
Obstacles, hurdles and so much more,
All of us successfully opened new doors.
Congratulations to everyone
Our adventure has only just begun.
