Help!! My son needs a graduation poem for 6th grade graduation! I can't find anything that doesn't say "jr. high" or talk about everyone leaving. I'm open to suggestions!!

I bet you (or your son and his friends) could write something--and I always say that someone you write, no matter how silly, will be treasured and remembered.

We've had adventures at (school) and made friends of whom we're fond.
But now it's time for us to go be little fish in a bigger pond.

It took us six long years to climb this mountain, great and steep.
But next fall we'll start over and the bottom of the heap.

See if you can find rhymes for the name of the school, the name of the principal, the name of the town, the name of the team (if any)... That will get the attention of the kids who are listening.

Originally he was told just to "find" something. But he's a very good writer. I've sent a note to school today for the teacher's permission to write something himself. Thanks so much for your ideas!
