Given the Talmudic feeling for paradox as a key to wisdom, I would guess that Rabbi Yehudah was himself a translator and he wasn't AGAINST translating, but he wanted to warn those involved to have humility about what they could and could not do.

Whom does one libel, God?

Marian, a couple of years ago, a member of the forum here turned me on to a
