Do you know any jokes about poetry or poets? Anything on Shakespeare?

Jeanette, go to google, type in "jokes about writers", you'll get lots of hits.

Shakespeare?

A diarist, Samuel Pepys,
Wrote, "My wife is a woman who slepys
Whenever I'm randy,
So I pour me a brandy,
And visit the pen of our shepys."

Here's one I gleaned from Google:

Before he became a writer, William Shakespeare used to sell Swiss Cheese. He gave up the job because people kept complaining about his cheese. They would say to him "No holes, bard!"

I just read "A Room of One's Own" by Virginia Woolf and she pretends that Shakespeare has a sister named Judith....and of course Judy can't be like her brother bill because she's a woman, but I thought the whole pretense was rather comical.

"Shakespeare's Sister" is the name of a Brooklyn bookstore. That essay was a lot more stirring when VW wrote it than you would think to read it now.
