Old magazine copyright

I've been contacted by someone asking to know who owns the copyright to "Song for a Fifth Child", by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton. It apparently first appeared in Ladies Home Journal in 1958.

I've no idea - I've only ever seen it on the Net, never in print - does anyone know where to find it, or whether the publishing house responsible for Ladies Home Journal is still around?

Thanks!

Many thanks, Hugh (and absent friends as well!) - I've been able to get back to them with several leads, and hopefully they should be able to track down what they need.

LHJ still exists and is now owned by the Meredith Corporation.

Contact info at

That includes phone numbers and email addresses for CORPORATE (not just subscriptions and advertising).

Call or write one of those.

And by the way, I'm delighted to know that this poem has a known author. I've seen the last verse used on samplers and such, without attribution.

Cheers, Marian-NYC. I'll pass on the details!
