can't find the rest of the rhyme

A friend's mother used to have this rhyme on the wall when he was a child. I'd like to find the rest of the words for him. Can anyone here help me? "It sorta does a fella good, To sit and talk a spell,
And learn how things are goin' on...

Would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

It sounds 'Robert Service' like- haven't turned up anything on the net so far. Here's a link to something similar. [nwp.edgateway.net] />

Pam, Thanks much for the poem. That isn't the one I am looking for, but, as you said, it is similar. I think it is appropriate for our Mother/Daughter banquet next week. It is beautiful. Thanks again, Dianne

I am going to guess that it sounds like Edgar A. Guest but I haven't got it located yet.
