Hi I was wondering if you guys know any love poems that you could give to girlfriend, because You don't have any love poems. I did a search and it said no love poems. You guys should make section just for love poems
A search in the Poet List of the word 'love' returned 463 items. None of those would do?
pam
You're right, Pam; there are 463 poems about love.
But T was right, too; when you search using the term "love poems" it shows "0 results"!
The search is looking for words contained within the poems.

buy Bodies that hum, by Beth Gylys - great book, playful, erotic
Personal
-Beth Gylys
I want a man whose body makes mine hum,
who when he looks my way the sky goes hazy.
Don't call me if you're boring, crude or dumb.
Discussions about sports teams turn me numb,
and men who can't stop talking drive me crazy.
I want a man whose body makes mine hum,
who sweetly cries my name out as we come,
a sensual man, whose touch makes me feel dizzy.
Don't call me if you're angry, cheap or dumb.
I like full lips, bare skin, long winter nights, some
good red wine. I like to spend a lazy
morning with a man who makes me hum.
I like to wade in fountains just for fun,
to decorate my hairband with a daisy,
skinny-dipping, hopscotch, playing dumb.
I love good jazz, dancing till I'm numb,
deep snow, strong wind, a girl dressed up in paisley.
I want a man whose body makes mine hum.
Don't call me if you're rigid, mean or dumb.
I only discovered this today - don't know if you'll think it fits your brief, but I thought it so good I'd post it anyway:
POSTSCRIPT - FOR GWENO
If I should go away,
Beloved, do not say
“He has forgotten me”.
For you abide,
A singing rib within my dreaming side;
You always stay.
And in the mad tormented valley
Where blood and hunger rally
And Death the wild beast is uncaught, untamed,
Our soul withstands the terror
And has its quiet honour
Among the glittering stars your voices named.
Alun Lewis 1942
PS Try this, too:
IF A MILLION PEOPLE LOVE YOU Anon
If a million people love you,
I will be among them.
If only a thousand people love you,
Remember, I’ll be one of the thousand who cares.
If only a hundred people love you,
I’ll be the one who cries.
If only two people love you,
I’ll be the one on your right side.
But if no one on earth is left to lover you,
You will know that I have died!
A Red Red Rose.
Robert Burns.
My luve is like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in june;
My luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear;
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun!
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare-thee-weel, my only luve,
And fare-thee-weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten-thousand mile.
Maybe this one by cummings...
somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond
by: e e cummings (1894-1962)
somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near;
your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skillfully, mysteriously) her first rose;
or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;
nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing;
(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands.
