Not sure I understand - do you mean you want to use, say, deconstruction to analyse TS Eliot, or something in that vein?

Reading up on, and understanding, a theory is a big job, especially if you want to understand it well enough to analyse poems using it. Older theories tend to be a bit more easily grasped - I'd probably look into modernism, and apply it to a Victorian.
