Cannot find in earch engines, don't know if is from prose or verse:

"The purer the Golden Vessel, the more readily it is bent; The higher worth of women is sooner lost than that of men..."

Possibly two quotes (?)
1. "The purer the golden vessel the more readily it is bent
2/ "The higher worth of women is sooner lost than that of men..."

John:

The "golden vessel" quote is by a German novelist and writer, Jean Paul Richter, and can be found here:

Joe

It's been a long time since we've heard from you. I was thinking about you the other day as we were finalizing our plans for vacation on Topsail Island next week. How are you doing?

The Mule has more than its share of scholars who know when not to employ an apostrophe. Innit?

Stephen the Pedant, as always.

Julia2009, this is a poetry discussion site. Your spam is out of place and will achieve nothing here. A pretentious waste of time.
