The latest Missouri Review, (Spring 2006) has some wonderfully sensitive poems by a poet named Sue Ellen Thompson, "My Parent's Sex Life" and "What She Wanted."

I enjoyed reading her other poem on that first site.
And of course, simple me, I enjoy her because I "get" her. DUH.
I'm not very abstract so I do like her narrative style.

The book about her mother dying from cancer seems particularly sensitive and I probably will hunt down that book and purchase it. It's timely with our new Poet Laureate being Donald Hall and all that he wrote about his late wife.

I particularly like his poem titled, "The Porcelain Couple" and "Letter to No Address" or something like that.
