If anyone gets a chance, pick up Jack Gilbert's latest book, REFUSING HEAVEN. It's every bit as good and perhaps better than MONOLITHOS and THE GREAT FIRES.

There is a poem in the book titled "Moreover" that is his writing at its best (which is all of the time), but that one is special.
