Query over William Blake

Anyone know if there is a back story to this one by Blake, it surely must have.

The Poisonous Tree

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe;
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I water'd it in fears,
Night & morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with my smiles
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright;
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veil'd the pole:
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch'd beneath the tree

The original title was Christian Forbearance', if that means anything. See also this excerpt from Blake's Wail of Enion:

I am made to sow the thistle for wheat, the nettle for a nourishing dainty:
I have planted a false oath in the earth, it has brought forth a Poison Tree:
I have chosen the serpent for a counsellor, and the dog
For a schoolmaster to my children:
I have blotted out from light and living the dove and nightingale,
And I have causèd the earthworm to beg from door to door:
I have taught the thief a secret path into the house of the just:
I have taught pale Artifice to spread his nets upon the morning
My heavens are brass, my earth is iron, my moon a clod of clay,
My sun a pestilence burning at noon, and a vapour of death in night.

Prince William had buggered a group
Of scouts from an wilderness troop.
   When a fly-fisher stirred,
   He swears that he heard,
"Hey, wader, an heir's in my poop!"

Congratulations Mr Clary – you have won a major prize. On your next trip across the Pond (we suggest you purchase a one-way ticket in the interests of economy) you will be taken on a free trip up the River Thames and enter one of the most prestigious and historical buildings by an entrance reserved for monarchs and other VIPs. There, in a city location unaffordable to the common folk, you will receive free board and lodging for the rest of your brief life. Following a quick trip to the Green your eyes will be raised to unparalleled views of central London and the river and excitingly close encounters with the local birdlife. We look forward to seeing you and already a handbill is being prepared for your visit:

A mischievous Yank, surnamed Clary
Implied that our heir was a ‘fairy’
For his scurrilous rhyme
He is now serving time
In the Tower and his prospects are scary!

A man of Prince Will's noble stature
when confronted by Margaret Thatcher
said "If you I must lay,
then I'd rather turn gay,
as a pitcher, though, not as a catcher"

As they say to children learning to read by phonics, break it down into parts. First word think equinox, second and third are botanical. (second should strictly be upper case.)

I said to them "who let the cat in"
and then I repeated in Latin
I said "Semper ubi"
and then said " sub ubi"
unless you are worshipping Satin

Thank you, Hugh, I was splitting it up too much ie three separate words (spring plum bird!). I might have got it if you'd put the capital in!
